This page answers some of the main questions that people commonly ask about IVC. What is IVC? IVC stands for Inter Varsity Club. How did it start? The organisation started in Cambridge in 1946, with the aim of providing a social life for students during vacation time. Do I have to be graduate to join? No. Although IVC was originally set up for students, this is no longer the case.Club membership is now open to anyone. What's most important is that you, and the other club members, are mutually compatible in terms of sharing social interests etc.. What age group are the members? The majority of club members are in the 25-50 age range, but the club contains older and younger members as well. What does it cost to join? The annual membership fee for Essex IVC is £35 for singles, £53 for couples. Are there any other IVC clubs? There are 45 IVC clubs in the UK all affiliated to the Association of Inter Varsity Clubs. This gives a total UK membership of approximately 6000 people. How many member do you have? In Essex IVC there are approximately 200 members How do I join?
